Friday = fun!!

Our Friday at school was hectic - starting with a 7:00 a.m. staff meeting.  I took notes via our translator, but most of it didn't really apply to us.  Oh well!   :-)  We both teach a pretty full schedule on Fridays, but we had 7th and 8th periods to work on lesson plans for next week.  Actually, we are pretty productive when the teacher workroom is empty except for us.  LOL!!

We got home and had just enough time to change into jeans, then head out to a Friday night party!  We got a ride to Zavašna Poruba. (sp??)  to a cottage (aka restaurant) under Poludnica, the mountain we climbed once upon a time.  One of our colleagues runs the restaurant with her husband, and they had a beautiful Kapusnica party.  (That's the traditional sauerkraut and sausage soup that Slovaks have for Christmas.)  We had a great time!!  :-)

The table was beautifully decorated for us!

I want to remember this way of folding two colored napkins so I can do it
at home - so simple, yet so elegant!!  :-)
Daska and Nadia were playing games with Miro's dauthgers

It was kind of like "full-body" rock-paper-scissors, Slovak version.
It was the Lady, the Bear, and the Hunter!!   :-)
Miro playing the guitar and singing!

Singing and dancing at the party!

Tim was playing cards with Katka and two of my Basic School students.,
Juraj and Janko, the sons of Slavka, our colleague who hosted the party.

Tim had absolutely NO idea how to play the card game - it was a
differentdeck completely, and rules he didn't understand........
but somehow Tim won the game!! LOL!!

With Nadia - she's so much fun!!
And tomorrow we are heading to Poprad for the Christmas Market - we are meeting the four American teachers from Tisovec there for the day!
